Transliteration Guide and Spellings

This is a guide as to how to search this database. Each song or prayer will be listed either by its published name alone or by its standardized transliteration and its published name. This is because, as one can imagine, Hebrew can be transliterated in a myriad of ways. To enable the user to more easily utilize this archive, we use the transliteration standard as put forth by the CCAR Prayerbook, Mishkan T’filah. Variants of each word will be provided below in case there is any doubt or question about what you are searching for. The list will grow as the archive grows. Always search the archive for the standardized spelling for ease of use and greatest search results.
